National Junior Ranger Day is April 21, 2018.

Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks will celebrate with special activities for all ages. This year you can explore park stars of every kind, from plants and animals that take center stage to people who work behind the scenes.

Activities are free and take place in different parts of the park. Use the links below to find one near you.
Join a Junior Ranger Day festival at Foothills Visitor Center from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Complete activities and collect stamps at exploration stations to earn a special Junior Ranger patch. Here are some (not all!) of the stations you can visit to learn about different types of work it takes to keep parks fun and safe:

The Fire Station. Explore fire trucks with a ranger. Learn the tools of the trade and how they are used.

Animal Masquerade. M
ake a mask for your favorite animal and discover how the park would protect you.
Meet a Mule Packer. Learn the “ins and outs” of mule packing from the experts.
A Childs Life. How do rangers re-create the past? Find out with toys from the early 1900s and a shaving demonstration.
Ranger Photo Booth. Try on the many hats park rangers wear and take a picture of yourself in the giant photo frame.
Attend one or more of these activities to earn a sticker, patch, or badge. Then bring your completed activity or Junior Ranger book to a special ceremony at 1:00 pm, 2:30 pm, or 4:00 pm to be sworn in under the sequoias.
