In 2019, several campgrounds throughout these parks will open late due to deep snowpack and hazard trees. Years of drought have left thousands of dead trees, which may suddenly fall into campsites or buildings. As snow melts, park crews are working diligently to clear these hazard trees. Please be aware that these new opening dates may change. Visitor and staff safety remain our top priorities. Check this page before your trip for updates.
If you have made a reservation on Recreation.gov for a campsite impacted by this delay, you will recieve a message at least two weeks in advance of your reservation date.
After hazard tree work is done, campgrounds may appear messy with cut wood. Wood that is dead and has been cut down may be used for campfires, unless fire restrictions are in place.
