On October 13, 2016 Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument will host our first annual Citizenship Ceremony! The beautiful Quarai Mission, which has been the site of a Franciscan mass, Pueblo Indian conversion, and Inquisition hearings –will now see 15 new Americans take their Oath of Allegiance! The National Park Service working in conjunction with the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service has been hosting these ceremonies around the country, and Salinas Pueblo Missions is pleased to enter into this partnership!

Come enjoy witnessing as the ceremony begins at 1pm with the presentation of the flag by Boy Scout Troop #640 from Edgewood, NM followed by the Call of Countries and the Presentation of Candidates as they recite the Oath of Citizenship! Speakers will include, Superintendent Tom Betts, Abbey Lewis from Sen. Heinrich's office, Torrance County District 3 Commissioner, Leroy Candelaria, and Mountainair Chief of Police, Robert Chung. The ceremony will conclude with the Zuni Pueblo Dancers.

Please join us for this very moving ceremony then stay to take in Quarai in all of its splendor!
