2016 TEACHER-RANGER-TEACHER PROGRAM OPENING ANNOUNCED
Seeking a Bay Area Educator to Join the San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park Crew this Summer
Friday, May 20, 2016 is the Application Deadline for this Unique, 230-hour Position

San Francisco –San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park is recruiting a Teacher-Ranger-Teacher for summer 2016. This temporary (230-hour) position is part of a professional development program to help grow and nurture K-12 educational opportunities within the National Park Service. Teachers will work alongside rangers, assisting with outreach for the centennial Every Kid in a Park program, creating a new brochure to highlight the Park's standards-based education programs, organizing lesson plans on the Park website, and interacting directly with the public at visitor contact stations.

Applicants should have strong writing and editing skills, an interest in San Francisco history (especially maritime history), and a passion for developing and implementing placed-based education in national parks. A $3000.00 stipend (but no housing assistance) is offered upon completion of program and graduate course requirements.
