Collections Department

Assist staff with the management, maintenance and preservation of the collections. Help with cleaning, labeling and cataloging artifacts.

This is an excellent opportunity for students and individuals with backgrounds in museum studies. Internships are available.

 

A fragment of hand-stitched sail with a piece of rope attached. A sailmaker's palm and needles are laying on top. Palms were like sewing thimbles and allowed the sailmaker to push a needle through layers of heavy canvas.
