Step Back in Time!
Step back in time on Saturday, October 14 for the Heritage Day festival at historic Peirce Mill in Rock Creek Park.

Visitors to the restored and operating 19th century grist mill can watch a blacksmith work his forge. A special attraction this year will be demonstrations of West African Weaving by Master Weaver Chapuchi Bobbo Ahiagble.

At center stage is the last remaining mill in Washington, DC. Visitors can witness the intricate workings of this four-story machine as it grinds corn into meal, powered by a giant water wheel.

Milling demonstrations will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Enjoy hands-on art and crafts activities for children, live bluegrass and more. Food will be available for purchase.
