  Join the Environmental Action Committee of West Marin (EAC) for the annual Litter Bugs Me roadside clean up efforts in West Marin the week of September 10–15, 2018.

  As an unincorporated gateway community to three national park sites, three state parks, open space, and agricultural lands, as well as a residential community, West Marin is a hot spot for Bay Area tourism. While tourism helps support the local economy, we also notice we get a lot of trash piling up along the roadsides after the busy summer tourist season. In an effort to clean up the watershed before the winter rains, EAC is encouraging individuals may join EAC for their roadside clean up on Saturday, September 15. EAC is also coordinating groups to join as Team Up to Clean Up Crews from Monday, September 10 to Friday, September 14. The combined community cleanup helps support safer wildlife corridors, coastal and riparian zones, recreational opportunities, and gets our community outside to protect what we love about West Marin.

  How To Get Involved

  Join EAC Roadside Clean Up Efforts (Saturday, September 15)
  EAC has combined their Litter Bugs Me efforts with California Coastal Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 15. EAC is partnering with Marconi Conference Center State Historic Park, Hog Island Oyster Company, and others to host a boat-in and roadside cleanup hubbed at Marconi. EAC will take on the roadsides along Platform Bridge Road, in and around the Giacomini Wetlands, and in Point Reyes Station. The event is open to individuals and families with children 10 and older.

  EAC can supply some gloves, vests, and safety equipment. Participants will need to register for the roadside cleanup on Saturday, September 15, through EAC's Coastal Clean Up event. Choose to be a roadside volunteer to join the effort. EAC will contact you with additional instructions before the event. The clean up will be followed by a weigh-in and volunteer celebration at Marconi Conference Center State Historic Park. RSVP only.

  Become a Team Up to Clean Up Crew (September 10-14)
  EAC is inviting businesses, clubs, village associations, and nonprofits to join them as a Team Up to Clean Up Crew by adopting one or more roadsides in one of the coastal communities from Dillon Beach to Muir Beach where their crew will pick up trash throughout the week of September 10–14. Crews and cleanups are independently coordinated, but are encouraged to contact EAC staff with their planned location, time, and date of their roadside clean up so there isn't any overlap.

  On the day of your clean up, take photos, weigh or estimate your trash haul, and send EAC your litter and volunteer statistics and photos to share with the community. Crews can also RSVP to our thank-you BBQ on Saturday, September 15 at Marconi Conference Center State Historic Park following our Coastal Clean Up efforts.
