New Mexico's night sky is a cultural treasure that many have viewed in awe and appreciation. Due to minimal light pollution, Capulin Volcano has one of the best, and well preserved night skies in the nation. Capulin's night sky is recognized by the International Dark Sky Association as a Gold Tier Dark Sky Park.

Bring your friends and family to watch the sunset at Capulin and experience the transition from day to night. Once the sun has set, enjoy the wonders of the night sky as we bring out telescopes to observe the moon, planets, and distant stars.

This event is completely free and open to the public. We only ask that you RSVP for the event via Facebook message or by telephone (575) 278-2201

Please note this event will only take place weather permitting.  Any weather which greatly reduces visibility or poses a safety threat will result in a cancellation.  We will make every effort possible to update the website and social media listings when cancellations take place.  Again, we do ask all visitors to RSVP to Night Sky programs by calling the park at (575) 278-2201.
