Try a New Trail and celebrate America's magnificent trail system by coming to Valley Forge's National Trails Day event on Saturday, June 3, 2017.We have several well-known and well-loved trails throughout the park, but we also have lesser-known trails that will surprise and challenge you. Have you crossed the new Sullivan’s Bridge? Interested in getting oriented to the rougher trails of Mt. Joy and Mt. Misery?
Join us on one of many walks taking place throughout the day. You will be guided by experienced park staff and volunteers. Additionally, join the two regularly scheduled Ranger led walks leaving the theatre at 10:50am and 2:50pm. The walks have limited space, so reserve your spot by clicking on the links below.
Guided WalksGrand Parade Meadow Walk | Moderate | 9:00-11:00am
Enjoy a guided walk on mown trails through the park meadows with our knowledgeable staff. Park at the Maurice Stephens House or Washington Memorial Chapel to start this 2 hour walk at the Maurice Stephens House. Register by clicking here.
Historical Walks with Interpretive Rangers | Easy | 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:30am, and 1:00pm
Two National Park Service Rangers will lead engaging 1-hr walks from Artillery Park to the Von Steuben statue. Meet 5 minutes before the walk begins. Register by clicking here.
River Trail Walk | Easy | 9:15am-11:15am
Join two Park Ambassador volunteers for an exploration of the popular River Trail. Meet at the Visitor Center flagpole by 9:15am. Register by clicking here.
Joseph Plumb Martin History Walk | Moderate | 9:30am-12:00pm
One of the Valley Forge Encampment Store's most dynamic guides will lead this walk! Meet at the Visitor Center front desk by 9:30am. Rain or shine. Register by clicking here.
Mt. Misery with the Appalachian Mountain Club | Moderate | 12:00-1:30pm
Join us at the Wilson Road parking lot for a 2-3 mile hike that will elevate your heart and mind 400-foot high on an unpaved woodland trail. Register by clicking here.Mt. Joy with the Appalachian Mountain Club | Moderate | 2:00-3:30pm

Other Programs
Bark Ranger | 9:00am-12:00pm
Bring your favorite canine companion and meet us at the Mini-Parade Ground in front of the Visitor Center to learn how you and your dog can steward the park. There will be goodies! Register by clicking here.
