Hear about the park's efforts to ensure that Black Hawks return every year with Chief of Science and Resource Managment Dave Larsen. Take a short birding walk with Park Rangers Tom VandenBerg, Daphne Sewing and park Biologist Raymond Skiles who will teach you about the area's ecology, restoration efforts in the wetlands and the Conservancy's role in protecting the federally endangered Silvery Minnow. Learn about the improvements at the visitors center that will take place this winter.
Friday, September 28 50th Anniversary Celebration at Rio Grande Village Visitor Center
Join the Conservancy and park staff to cut a cookie cake in celebration of the Rio Grande Wild & Scenic Act's 50th Anniversary. There will be giveaways, kids goodies, free cookies and punch and water for all park guests and staff until supplies run out.
