The Fort McHenry Guard presents: DEFENDERS OF 1814!
From June 27 through August 19, Fort McHenry offers “hands on history” five days a week.
11 am & 2 pm - Musket or cannon demonstrations. Dressed in uniforms of the soldiers, sailors and civilians who defended Baltimore in 1814, this living history program offers an interactive touchstone to the past.
12 pm & 3 pm - Fife and drum music demonstrations. Hear the thunderous beat of drums and shrill of fifes of Fort McHenry’s nationally recognized fife and drum corps.
11 am - 4 pm - Discover how average Baltimoreans contributed to the city’s defense against the British and see fashions from 1814, historic cooking, and a look at life on the home front.
