  The Peninsula Concert Band has been performing in the Tidewater area for more than sixty years. The band gave its first performance on July 3, 1950 at Darling Stadium in Hampton under the direction of Michael A. Quinto. CWO Michael A. Quinto, a retired US Army bandmaster, founded the band in June of 1950. The band is a non-profit organization chartered in 1956 to serve the Peninsula cities. The band has presented a variety of concerts over the years, including concerts at churches, dedications, graduations, retirement communities, the Occasion for the Arts, and Newport News Centennial celebrations. The band is available to present concerts in the Tidewater area.
