Archeology Day 2017

  • 10/21/2017 Location: Mission San José: 6701 San José Drive, San Antonio, TX, Time: 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM Fee Information: Free

Join us for archeology-themed activities for the whole family at Archeology Day! This event is all about the science of archeology - learn how we know what we know about Spanish Colonial missions! Participate in over a dozen archeology activities at this event. Come have fun while meeting the people who research and care for the missions in our community.

October is Museum Month, when we delve into archeology, artifacts, history, and curation. Join us!

We are seeking volunteers to assist visitors with various hands-on activities, including building a mission, participating in a mock- archaeology dig, and other fun activities. Volunteers might also assist with setting up or taking down tables and shade tents. For more information and to sign up: e-mail SAAN_volunteers@nps.gov. Two volunteer slots are available: 8 am to 12 pm OR 12 pm to 4 pm. Any high school volunteers under age 18 will need to submit a completed volunteer agreement form (301A) signed by a legal parent/guardian. This will ensure that you will be able to volunteer!
