Join staff and volunteers from the Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary (NOAA) and National Park Service from 9:00am-11:00am for whale watching. Afterwards, from 11:00am-Noon, sit, relax and enjoy a presentation by Justin Viezbicke of the Sanctuary about humpback whales, their biology and lifecycle, most recent population estimates and research updates and other interesting information on their amazing 3,000 mile journey to Hawaii to breed, calve and nurse their young. The public is then invited to attend the Sanctuary's regular whale watches every Friday from December 21, 2012 to March 29, 2013 (9:00am-11:00am) at Pu`ukohola Heiau National Historic Site.
