Volunteer: Internships: Marine Science

We are seeking two full-time interns to assist the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GOGA) and Point Reyes National Seashore (PORE) in conducting rocky intertidal work during the late spring through summer 2010. GOGA and PORE are two coastal National Park Service units in Marin, San Francisco, and San Mateo Counties. Field work would involve inventories for black abalone and monitoring of existing rocky intertidal photoplots, seastars, and surfgrass. Office activities will include data entry and management. We will provide housing within GOGA (Marin Headlands) for the duration of the internship. A small stipend ($125/week) would be provided as well. Applicants should be in good physical condition and have a valid driver’s license. For further information, please contact Darren Fong via email.
