Point Reyes National Seashore currently has two positions announced and open for applications online through www.usajobs.gov: a full-time winter position at park visitor centers and an on-call, weekends-only position supporting the winter shuttle bus system.

Berries are ripening; pink-footed shearwater travels past Point Reyes; seasonal harbor seal protection measures have been lifted; fireworks prohibited throughout Marin County, including at Point Reyes National Seashore; changes in visitor center hours.

Gray whale migration has trickled off; humpback whales observed off Stinson and Limantour beaches; white flowers are everywhere; first snowy plover chick hatched on April 29; temporary closure of most of the beach between North Beach and Abbotts Lagoon; special Memorial Day weekend remembrance on Friday, May 22; the Bear Valley and Lighthouse visitor centers will be open for the holiday weekend.

The full moon rises on Tuesday, February 3. Early wildflowers are beginning to bloom. Updates on elephant seals, gray whales, and tule elk. Park visitor centers will be open the Presidents Day weekend. If the weather is clear, shuttles will operate through the three-day weekend. Highway 1 south of Muir Beach has re-opened.
