 Dr. Benjamin Franklin Cooling, noted historian, professor of history, and lecturer, will present: “Monocacy: The Battle that Saved Washington?” as part of this monthly roundtable.  The Battle of Monocacy, near Frederick, Maryland, took place on July 9, 1864.  For 154 years, participants and historians have touted it as the “battle that saved Washington” from Confederate capture. But was it? Come and find out what the controversy is about...Adults. (2 hrs.)
