Join National Park Service Naturalist Jerry Hightower for a campfire, guided hikes, and a beautiful spring evening with the glowing stars overhead. Wander by River Glen Pond or Three Forks Creek and listen to the crickets and frog chorus. Gather on the upper deck for a fantastic program by naturalist extraordinaire, Greg Greer and his amazing array of creatures large and small. Mr. Greg's Reptile Road Show is a great educational program that's amazing fun. This fun and very informative program is our concluding activity of the week long observance of Earth Day. Learn what you can do on Earth Day and every day of the year to protect the Chattahoochee River and our wonderful shared planet. Roast marshmallows over an open fire and walk along a forest trail. Receive a complimentary Chattahoochee River Naturalist Journal with wildlife lists and paw prints. Enjoy the campfire, the fragrant spring air, the stars, and the nocturnal sights and sounds of the Chattahoochee.
Parking is limited and carpooling is encouraged.
Restroom facilities are Located in the Center's Lodge
The evening hike is on an easy level trail
Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes suitable for walking on a forest trail. Dress in layers so that you can adjust to changes in the temperature and activity level. A flashlight would be a good idea.
