Third Thursday Weeders on July 21, 2011.

Join the Marin Chapter California Native Plant Society's "Third Thursday Weeders" to spend a day at beautiful Point Reyes and help tackle invasive weeds that threaten important plant habitat in the Point Reyes National Seashore.

You are invited to join the Third Thursday Weeders workday on Thursday, February 16, 2017, to help remove iceplant in the Lighthouse area (weather permitting).

Please meet promptly at 9:30 am at the Lighthouse parking lot.

(Directions from the Bear Valley Visitor Center to the Lighthouse.

We need a minimum of four volunteers to hold this workday, so please confirm your participation by 1 pm on Wednesday, February 15 by contacting Restoration Steward Cain Buckler by email.

We'll work until about 1:30 p.m. with a lunch break at the site. Please bring warm and wind-stopping layers, water, and lunch and snacks. Tools and gloves will be provided.

The Third Thursday Weeders meet on the third Thursday of most months at 9:30 am, usually at a trailhead near the work location. They visit beautiful sites to conduct important follow-up removal to maintain and enhance large-scale restoration projects. The workday usually involves a chance to view native plants—often including rare species—that are recolonizing the areas.

If you are interested in helping restore habitat at Point Reyes, but can't participate on Thursdays, join us for Habitat Restoration Program workdays, which are held on either the second or last Sunday of the most months.
