The Historical Highlights Speaker Series presents...

Fur Trappers from Fort Smith: Exploring the New World

In the 1830s Fort Smith founder John Rogers recruited a group of fur trappers to head out to the Rockies to compete against the large companies dominating the trapping trade at that time. Their story forms an interesting but little known chapter of early American frontier exploration.

As the first program of the new year, Fort Smith National Historical Site is proud to present guest speaker Harold Trisler as he shares his research and stories on the adventures of Fort Smith's early fur trappers.

There will be a Q&A session following the presentation.
