George Washington Carver found value and beauty in common materials that were often discarded. A park ranger will discuss how Carver equipped his first lab at Tuskegee Institute with items from the trash dump, his creation of paints and dyes from soil components, and his many uses of string and plant fibers. Visitors will be creating cornhusk dolls to take home by reusing cornhusks and plant fibers.
This program is intended for ages 18 and up.
