Spring BioBlitz Assateague Island National Seashore Virginia District
Who's visiting Assateague Island this time of year?
Come explore with us by participating in our Spring 2026 BioBlitz April 18th & 19th. All observations made within the boundaries of the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge (Virginia end of the park) on these days will be included in the project.
Enjoy one of our trails, walk the beach, or explore the marsh; there's thousands of species to observe.
While you're visiting the park, snap a photo of any living creature or evidence of one, and log your observation using the iNaturalist app. A limited number of special event ranger-guided programs will also be offered to enhance our observation numbers.
