Description

Ranger-guided snowshoe hikes are scheduled for January 18 and February 8, 2020.  Both dates include hikes at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.  All hikes will depart from the visitor center and follow the one-quarter-mile Roof Trail.

These programs are geared toward the beginner and will focus on the basics of snowshoeing.  However, once comfortable, the group will be allowed time to explore the national monument ... witnessing the beautiful winter scenery of the Black Hills.

Reservations are not required; however, equipment will be made available on a first come first served basis. Interested participants need to dress warm and wear sturdy hiking boots or snow boots; tennis shoes or other non-seasonal footwear will not complement the buckles on the snowshoes.

For more information, call the visitor center at (605) 673-8300 (Wednesdays through Sundays) from 8:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. MST.
