Description
Lowell National Historical Park is pleased to announce a recreation program for pups and their people: Bark Rangers. Here in Lowell, MA and at other select National Park Service sites, Bark Rangers serve as canine ambassadors for the park. Together with their human caretakers, Bark Rangers go on scheduled walks and model good stewardship.
During Bark Ranger programs, pets and people walk at a leisurely pace, learning about the history of the area together as they go. As part of their position as role models, Bark Rangers follow the B.A.R.K. rules:
Bag your waste
Always wear a leash
Respect wildlife
Know where you can go
For the humans who frequently use park areas to exercise their pets, this series is a chance to gain a new perspective. This Bark Ranger program is part of the park’s successful Wellness on the Walkways programs.
Special note: Those who do not have pets are welcome to come along and learn with us on these walks.
This free event begins at the Visitor Center (246 Market Street). Free parking is available at 304 Dutton Street.
