Description

Help us clean up trash along scenic Village Creek!

With your help, we can beautify this popular boat launch so that everyone can enjoy its scenic beauty.

Meet at the US Hwy 96 boat launch on Village Creek just north of Lumberton.

Volunteers are encouraged to wear long pants, closed-toe shoes, and long-sleeved shirts, and to bring water, bug spray, and sunscreen. Park staff will supply all necessary tools for the event, including gloves, trash bags, trash grabbers, etc.

National Public Lands Day

National Public Lands Day (NPLD) is a day to celebrate and give back to your public lands. Big Thicket National Preserve is hosting 3 volunteer events on NPLD: trash clean-up, trail beautification, and planting a pollinator garden.
