Description

The park is offering a free late summer Civil War to Civil Rights Bus Tour Series.

The "1619 To The Civil War" tour will discuss how the events of 1619 created a new society in colonial Virginia, and how it developed into the antebellum society of Virginia during the Civil War. At each stop we will examine connections between 1619 and park sites. Our central themes will be the arrival of Africans, the arrival of a large group of women, the beginnings of representative government, and relations with the Native Americans.

There will be minimal walking.

The tour departs from and returns to the Tredegar Visitor Center at 470 Tredegar Street in downtown Richmond.

The tour departs at 9 am and returns at Noon
