The Hike
Catch the Turkey Creek Trail here and head north into the heart of the Turkey Creek Unit.
From this trailhead, it is 9 miles to the northern terminus of the trail at FM 1943. The entire Turkey Creek Trail is 17 miles long, from FM 1943 to FM 420.

This trailhead is on Gore Store Road, about 4 miles east of US 69/287, and about 10 miles north of Kountze. The trailhead will be on the left (north) side of Gore Store Road.
The Turkey Creek Trail can be accessed via these other trailheads as well: FM 1943, Pitcher Plant Trail, County Road 4825, Gore Store Road (Southbound), and Kirby Nature Trail.
Accessibility
The trail surface is hard-packed soil with uneven surfaces, tree roots, and muddy sections. Parts of the trail often flood after heavy rain.
