Pemberton Historical Park, located in Salisbury, Maryland is a 262-acre park that offers 4.5 miles of nature trails, environmental, and special events. The park’s history dates to 1741 when Isaac Handy, one of the founders of the City of Salisbury, first built Pemberton Hall. Though founded by Handy, the park is named for Joseph Pemberton, who sold 960-acres of land to Handy. The historic structure still stands on park grounds and reflects its pre-Revolutionary war history.
Today, the property offers miles of hiking trails, guided tours, nature camps and even a nature center. While exploring the grounds, visitors will encounter ecosystems, habitats, and wildlife unique to the Eastern Shore, including wetlands, freshwater ponds, upland ponds, forests and more.
