The Devil's Chair Bridge, formally the Lyons Mill Footbridge, was one of eight footbridges built in Rock Creek Park as a Public Works Administration (PWA) project during the Great Depression. The structure is a long, sweeping concrete arch measuring 88* long and 10' wide. The creekside abutment supporting its east end is a remnant of Lyons Mill, which once stood at this site.
