GENERAL PARK CLOSURE: In the event of severe weather the park may need to be closed so snow and/or debris removal can take place. To determine the park's status of operation, please call (804) 732-3531 and then press "9".


*Seasonal Trail Closure Due to Bald Eagles Nesting (December 15 - July 15)

Five Forks Trail System: The Five Forks Unit of Petersburg National Battlefield now has approximately eight miles of trails open to the public. These trails can be used for hiking and bicycling. Trail maps are available at the new Visitor Contact Station located at 9840 Courthouse Road in Dinwiddie County. Click here for a printable Five Forks Unit trail map.

Update - January 29, 2015: Five Forks Unit Trails are closed to horses due to safety issues involving bridges along the multi-use trails. The trails will reopen to equestrians once the situation is corrected.
