The Thematic Framework IV. The American Revolution This theme embraces the political and military conflict between the "thirteen United States of America" and Great Britain, 1763-1783. In addition to the military campaigns and engagements, it focuses on the political events leading up to the revolution and the diplomatic moves by the various parties to the conflict, as well as political and social events during that era that were not directly related to the Revolution.
