APPENDIX A
PROJECT ARTIFACT ASSEMBLAGE

Over 1,500 items were collected during the 1989 archeological testing at Grand Portage National Monument in conjunction with installation of a new drainage system. Totals are summarized by artifact type and test unit in Table 1. Although the items were collected from distinct levels and areas within each unit in the course of excavations, the data sets were collapsed for purposes of this report.

All materials were cleaned, sorted, and analyzed at the Midwest Archeological Center laboratory in Lincoln, Nebraska. They are curated at that facility, along with attendant field records, under MWAC Accession Number 335.
