We are pleased to make available this historic
resource study, part of our ongoing effort to provide comprehensive
documentation for the historic structures and landscapes of National
Park Service units in the Southeast Region. Following a field survey of
park resources and extensive research, the project team updated the
park's List of Classified Structures, developed historic contexts, and
prepared new National Register of Historic Places documentation. Many
individuals and institutions contributed to the successful completion of
this work. We would particularly like to thank Chickamauga and
Chattanooga National Military Park Superintendent Pat Reed and Historian
James H. Ogden, III, for their assistance. This study was made possible
through a cooperative agreement with the Georgia Trust for Historic
Preservation.
