THE MASAU TRAIL

In December 1987, Congress approved legislation designating and interpreting a vehicular trail linking six Southwestern national parks and monuments containing materials of cultural significance. [20] Tentatively called the Masau Trail, after a Hopi deity believed to protect travelers, one of the installations on the route is Aztec Ruins National Monument. The bill authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to provide technical assistance in developing interpretive devices in order to enhance the public appreciation of the prehistoric and natural resources.
