The collection of shells and sea beans is allowed within the park as long as the animal is no longer living.
Explore some of the more remote areas of the park by driving down the beach. 4WD is recommended if travelling further than 5 miles.
Take your bike onto the beach for a nice ride beside the waves.
Several public hatchling releases happen each summer.
Fishing is a great way to enjoy the park whether you're doing it from the beach or laguna or out on a boat.
The Gulf of Mexico is a great place to go for a swim. Remember, there are no lifeguards on duty.
Padre Island National Seashore is an important area for migratory birds. Over 380 different species of birds have been seen within the park.

There are picnic tables available just outside the visitor center as well as a picnic shelter pavilion at the north end of the parking lot.
