Come see demonstrations of U.S.-Mexican War era weapons, tactics, and soldier life. Program includes live musket and artillery demonstrations. Visitors are encouraged to interact with the living historians. Living history programs are dependent upon weather.

Rio Grande Delta International Archaeology Fair
Our annual Rio Grande Delta International Archaeology Fair is typically held in early October. The fair gives you a chance to learn about archaeology, local archaeological resources, and preservation. See exhibits by professional and avocational archaeologist and local museums from both sides of the border. The fair features educational games and activities for visitors of all ages. Our annual illumination event is typically held mid-November. The event begins at 3 p.m. with living history programs. The memorial program begins at 5 p.m with a short ceremony held to remember veterans of the opening battles of the war. Luminaria lighting follows at sunset.
