Alt Text Map of George Washington Carver National Monument in Missouri. The park, shown in green, creates a band across the middle of the map. Surrounding areas are tan. Trails are shown as black dashed lines, roads in white, and sites in gray. Extended Description Prairie Restoration Areas lie to the north and south of the monument. The southern area has red text reading, “Please leave prairie in its natural state. Do not pick wildflowers.” Carver Road runs almost parallel to the right edge of the map. Notes alongside the road read “To Diamond, 2.6 miles (4 kilometers)” at the top and “To Neosho, 10 miles (16 kilometers)” at the bottom. From Carver Road, a park road shown in white enters the monument and leads to a loop with two parking areas, one of which is labeled Buses. A spur leading off the park road travels north to a parking lot, which also has a picnic area. A dashed black line shows a trail curving inside the loop and extending west past a visitor center, which is shown in gray with a green callout. The trail continues on outside the monument area as Carver Trail, arcing south past the site of Carver Bust and then on to Carver Cemetery. Here it turns north and continues into the top left quadrant as Walnut Fence Row arriving at the 1881 Moses Carver House. Here, the Contemplative Loop Trail moves north from the Carver Trail and circles Williams Pond. Back on Carver Trail, the route winds south to cross Carver Branch where the Boy Carver Statue sits along the banks. Trail paths continue through and around the site, including one leg that passes the Birthplace Site on its way to the visitor center. Legend A symbol for parking is in the lower left corner of the map. Below, a scale measures distances of 100 meters and 100 feet.
