Alt Text Map of George Rogers Clark National Historical Park in Indiana. The park is shown in green within a grid of white streets creating tan city blocks. The Wabash River curves across the top of the map, and eight locations are numbered and identified in blue text. Extended Description The Wabash River separates Illinois above with Indiana, which takes up most of the map. In Indiana, horizontally running roads start with North 1st Street just below the river and count up to North 6th Street along the bottom edge of the map. Cross streets, from left to right, include Willow, Nicholas, Dubois, Barnett, Church, Vigo, Main, Musseron, Broadway, Buntin, Perry, Seminary, Hart, Shelby, Scott, and Harrison streets, then College Avenue, Indianapolis Avenue, and Tecumseh Street. George Rogers Clark National Historical Park is in the top left quadrant along the river in the town of Vincennes. The park is further bordered to the left by Willow Street, the bottom by South 2nd Street, and the right by Main Street. Vigo Street runs vertically up the map, across the park, and crosses Lincoln Memorial Bridge over the Wabash River. A gray line to the right represents the Site of Buffalo Trace Ford. In the rectangular park are the Visitor Center to the left of center, parking, a round Memorial Building at the top center, the Francis Vigo Statue near the water, and Father Pierre Gibault Statue in the lower right corner. A cemetery is also marked in a tan block otherwise surrounded by the park. The first of the numbered sites points to a black rectangle near the cemetery and is labeled Old Cathedral Complex. Number 2, Old State Bank State Historic Site, is three blocks over and one block up from the cathedral complex on North 2nd Street between Busseron and Broadway streets. One block up and three blocks to the right from there is number 3, Old French House on North 1st Street between Seminary and Hart streets. Numbers 4 and 5 are above North 1st Street and close to Vincennes University grounds, which is near the top right corner of the map. Number 4 is Grouseland, Home of William Henry Harrison, and 5 is Vincennes State Historic Sites, which includes the Elihu Stout Print Shop and Indiana Territory Capital. Numbers 6, 7, and 8 refer to sites off the map. Number 6 points down in the bottom right corner to lead to Sugar Loaf Prehistoric Indian Mound with the instructions, “turn left on Washington Avenue, then right on Wabash Avenue.” Numbers 7 and 8 are off the right edge, with 7 representing Fort Knox II State Historic Site and 8 the Ouabache (Wabash) Trails Park. Text below provides directions: “turn left on Niblack, then right on Oliphant, then left on Fort Knox Road.” Legend A scale in the lower left corner of the map measures distances of 0.1 and 0.2 kilometers and 0.1 and 0.2 miles.
