Alt Text Map of Bering Land Bridge National Preserve in Alaska. Shown in green, the preserve covers the northern tip of the Seward Peninsula and stretches halfway down the central region of the landmass with a narrow strip reaching the western coast. Extended Description Shown in beige, the Seward Peninsula is surrounded by Kotzeube Sound to the north, Chukchi Sea to the northwest, Bering Sea to the southwest, and Norton Sound to the south. A handful of neighboring islands and other landmasses are shown to the west and northeast, while hundreds of waterways, mountain ranges, cities, and other topographical features populate the region. Within the preserve, two tan areas show Lava Fields in the south. Imuruk Lake is situated to the northeast of the fields, with five smaller lakes in the surrounding area appearing clockwise from Imuruk as follows: Sandy Lake, Erich Lake, Kuzitrin Lake, Joan Lake, and Lava Lake. A red dotted line representing the Continental Divide snakes through this area and then veers north before continuing east to the city of Wales on the western tip of the peninsula. Serpentine Hot Springs with a cabin and bathhouse is about halfway up the length of the preserve, and five shelter cabins are spaced along the western arc of the park. Dozens of lakes cluster in the northern region of the preserve where Devil Mountain stands alone at 798 feet (243 meters). Two other mountains within the protected area include Asses Ears in the southeast standing at 1,995 feet (608 meters) and Mount Boyan along the south central perimeter standing at 3,018 feet (920 meters). A dashed line representing the boundary of the Arctic Circle cuts through the very tip of Bering Land Bridge National Preserve. Cape Krusestern National Monument and Noatak National Preserve are across the Kotzebue Sound to the north.
