Alt Text Map of Fort Necessity National Battlefield in Pennsylvania. Three areas are outlined and labeled with green text. Surrounding areas are tan, and roads are represented with red lines and solid or dashed gray lines. Extended Description Fort Necessity is in the lower right quadrant of the map. Park roads lead to a picnic area there and Mount Washington Tavern. US Route 40, also labeled National Road, travels from the lower right corner of the map, through the town of Farmington, by Fort Necessity, and off the left edge of the map to eventually lead “To Uniontown.” On its way US Route 40 passes Braddocks’ Grave and Monument and then the town of Chalk Hill. Jumonville Road branches from US Route 40 near the left edge of the map near a spot labeled Summit of Ridge. Jumonville Road travels north to Jumonville Glen, which is also shaded and labeled in green. Braddock Road, represented with long, black double dashes, curves from just north of Jumonville Glen down past Braddock’s Grave and by Fort Necessity. Shown as blue lines, Great Meadows Run connects Fort Necessity to Meadow Run, which parallels US Route 40 to the north. Legend A scale in the lower left corner of the map measures distances of 1 and 2 kilometers and 1 and 2 miles.
