Alt Text Map of Cabrillo National Monument in California. Taking up the middle horizontal zone of a peninsula in this cropped view, the park is shown in green. The surrounding terrain is tan except for the area of the U.S. Coast Guard Reservation along the southwestern tip, which is gray. The surrounding Pacific Ocean is blue. Extended Description A cluster of four sites at the heart of the park includes the Military History Exhibit, Old Point Loma Lighthouse, Assistant Lighthouse Keeper’s Quarters, which has a lighthouse exhibit, and restrooms. Moving clockwise around the park from this cluster is the Entrance Station at noon. The Visitor Center, parking, and Cabrillo Statue are between one and two o’clock. Kelp Forest and Whale Overlook are just past six; Tidepool Access and parking are at seven, and more parking is available at two lots around eleven o’clock. The Bayside Trail rambles around the east half of the park and the Oceanside and Coastal trails on the left. Red text along the left edge of the peninsula reads, “Caution: Dangerous cliffs.” A park road leading north off the top edge of the map passes the Point Loma Ecological Conservation Area near a note reading, “To San Diego.” Legend A scale in the lower left corner of the map measures distances of 0.25 kilometers and 0.25 miles. A symbol next to this indicates that green areas belong to the Cabrillo National Monument.
