Extended Description

Rainbow Bridge National Monument and a courtesy dock are just to left of center in the map north of the state line. It is along the Forbidding Cyn near Lake Powell, and nearby Navajo Mountain measures 10,388 feet (3,166 meters). The Colorado River is in the bottom left corner of the map. Moving upstream are Lake Powell and then the San Juan River, which winds across the middle of the map.

Glen Canyon Recreational Area spreads along the northern banks of the rivers and lake and continues north along the Escalante River. The towns of Bullfrog and Halls Crossing are labeled in the recreation area near the top edge of the map. Dangling Rope Marina is marked on Lake Powell across from Rainbow Bridge National Monument. Grand Staircase - Escalante National Monument fills in the top left quadrant of the map.

Shifting into Arizona and the southwest, Wahweap, Antelope Point, the town of Page, Carl Hayden Visitor Center, and Lees Ferry are in the recreational area along the Colorado River in Arizona. Navajo National Monument is in the bottom center of the map in the Navajo Indian Reservation.

State Routes 276, 261, and 95 and US Route 191 connect the towns of Mexican Hat and Oljato and travel east of the recreation area in Utah. Roads continue east off the right edge of the map “To Blanding and Hovenweep NM.” Towns of Kayenta and Tsegi along with US Routes 160 and 98 and US Routes 89 and 89A are labeled in Arizona, and roads traveling off the right edge continue “To Farmington, NM and Mesa Verde NP.” On the other side of the map, US Route 89 leads west “To Kanab and Zion NP” in Utah and US Route 89A leads “To Grand Canyon NP (north rim)” in Arizona.
