Alt Text Map of Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site in North Dakota. Shown as a kelly-green cluster of dots with a callout, the site is situated in the north central region of the map along a scoop of State Route 1804 just east of the border with Montana. Extended Description Bisected vertically by a gray dashed state line, the map includes Montana to the west and North Dakota to the east. Both are shown in gray with a web of state routes in black, US routes in red, rivers in blue, and cities in yellow throughout. Spanning most of the northern region in red, US Route 2 runs north of the site, passing through Culbertson at the intersection of State Route 16 in the west. The highway continues east past Bainville at State Route 327, which swoops southeast along the Missouri River and converges with State Route 1804 as it passes the historic site. From here, the 327 skirts Fort Buford at State Route 58, then veers north past Trenton as it swings back up to US Route 2. In the top right corner, US Route 2 curves sharply up to merge with US Route 85 just north of Williston. Now traveling south as US Route 85, the red-colored road passes State Route 200 on its way to Alexander before turning east off the edge of the map. State Route 200 travels west to cross the Yellowstone River, pass State Route 58, and meet State Route 201 in Fairview, which is in the center of the map. State Route 201 continues west to State Route 16, which connects Culbertson in the top left corner with Sidney near the bottom center. South of Sidney, a dense tangle of highways around the Yellowstone River includes State Routes 200, 16, 261, 23, 202, and 68. Legend A scale in the lower left corner of the map measures distances of 10 kilometers and 10 miles.
