Just west of this area and near the northern city limits, Buena Vista Road forks off North Bond Street to head northeast. Following Buena Vista Road north outside the city limits is the Smiling Peanut and Maranatha Baptist Church. North of Maranatha Baptist Church, Buena Vista Road becomes State Route 45 to head “To Concord, 8 miles (13 kilometers).” Now back on Church Street as it veers northeast is the Plains Water Tower followed by the city limits.
