Alt Text Map of Greenbelt Park in Maryland. The park area is shown in green, surrounding areas in tan and roads in gray or white. Extended Description The town of Greenbelt is northeast of Greenbelt Park. State Route 193, Greenbelt Road, borders the park to the north; State Route 201, Kenilworth Avenue, to the west; and Good Luck Road to the south. Interstate 95/495, the Capital Beltway, runs diagonally past the northeast edge of the park, and the Baltimore-Washington Parkway cuts almost vertically through the park about three-quarters of the way across from the left. The Entrance is on State Route 193 between State Route 201 and Interstate 95/495. In clockwise order, the park road passes Park Headquarters at one o’clock, Holly with a picnic area at three, Laurel with a picnic area at six, and Sweetgum with parking and a picnic area at nine o’clock. The road continues as Park Central Road south past parking until it reaches a network of campgrounds about two-thirds of the way down the park. Here Park Central Road turns west and passes a Ranger Station with Information before proceeding to loops labeled A, B, C, and D, each of which has a campground symbol. A Campfire Circle is marked near loop B and a Disposal Station along loop C. Trails make a web across the left two-thirds of the park to the west of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway. The Azalea Trail, Perimeter Trail, and Dogwood Trail wind around and through the top half of the park. The Perimeter Trail continues in the bottom half, where it meets with the Blueberry and Metro Access trails and, to the east, a Paved Bike Trail. Parking is available where the Paved Bike Trail meets Good Luck Road along the southern border. Buddy Attick Park, also represented in green, curves like a sideways apostrophe to the northeast over Greenbelt Park near where State Route 201 and Interstate 95/495 cross each other in an X shape. State Route 201 continues “To Beltsville” and 95/495 “To US State 1,” both to the north. The Baltimore-Washington Parkway leads “To Baltimore” to the east and Interstate 95/495 to US Route 50 to the southeast. Good Luck Road becomes Campus Drive west of the park and leads “To College Park-University of Maryland Metro Station.” Legend A column of symbols represent a Ranger station, Parking, Picnic area, and Campground. The legend continues as follows: Gray, thick dashed line for Paved bike trail, Black, thin dashed line for Hiking trail, and Bold, orange letter A for Campground loop. Below is a scale measuring distances of 0.5 kilometers and 0.5 miles.
