Alt Text Map of Wilson’s Creek National Battlefield in Missouri. Spanning the map from north to south, the roughly rectangular site is shown in sage green with pockets of beige and a dark magenta Tour Road with 8 numbered stops. The surrounding terrain is pale green and ivory white. Extended Description Outlined in jade green, the stepped boundaries of the battlefield site are roughly framed on three sides by white roads while the Wilsons Creek slithers down the center. County Road 182, also labeled Elm Street, borders about half the northern edge of the park. Text near the left edge of the map on Elm Street reads “To Republic.” State Route ZZ intersects Elm Street near the top left corner of the map and continues along the western edge of the site. Text near Route ZZ at the top of the map reads, “To Springfield, US Route 60, and Interstate 44.” Wilson Road extends off of State Route ZZ along the southern border of the park. It transitions to being an unpaved road after Manley Ford in the bottom right corner of the park. Finally, County Road 111 extends south from County Road 182 to line the east side of the park but only for a short distance. The Historic route of Wire Road is indicated with a black dashed line that cuts diagonally up and through the width of the park and off either side. The Visitor Center and a picnic area are near the top left corner of the park near the intersection of State Route ZZ and Elm Street. The one-way Tour Road travels in a loose oval about two-thirds of the way down the park. Following the road to the northeastern corner of the site, stop 1 leads to Gibson Oatfield and stop 2 to Ray House. An avocado-green trapezoid to the north outlines Ray Cornfield and a smaller section to the south outlines Ray Orchard. Trails cut through and around the oatfield and orchard, creating access to Gibson’s House Site and Gibson’s Mill site along the oatfield and Ray Springhouse and Ray House within Ray Orchard at stop 2. From here, the tour route angles gently southwest to stop 3, where trails lead to Pulaski Arkansas Battery, East Battlefield Overlook, and Edwards Cabin/Price’s Headquarters. The road passes Manley Uplands Trail, which provides the closest access to Sigel’s First Position, near the southeast corner of the park. The Tour Road curves to stop 4, where avocado-green lines represent the historic fence lines of Sharp Cornfield and Sharp Stubblefield. Sigel’s Second Position is near the heart of the stubblefield. The Tour Road turns north to stop 5 near the site of Sigel’s Final Position and Sharp Farm site. Continuing northwest, stop 6 is at Guibor’s Battery and stop 7 at Totten’s Batter, Du Bois’s Battery, Bloody Hill, Sinkhole, and Lyon Marker. Number 8 at the Route of Union Advance and Withdrawal is the final stop before the road reconnects near the Visitor Center. Legend In the bottom right corner, a legend shows a dark magenta dot for Tour stop, a black dashed line for Trail, and an avocado-green line for Historic fence line. Below, a scale measures distances of 0.25 kilometers and 0.25 miles.
