Alt Text Map of Monocacy National Battlefield in Maryland. The park takes up most of the map and is highlighted in dark green with the surrounding area in light green. Roads are represented by black, blue, and red lines. Trails are represented by dashed lines. Extended Description Monocacy National Battlefield is located along the Monocacy River between State Route 355 (Urbana Pike) and Interstate Highway 270. The Visitor Center is on New Technology Way just off State Route 355. The Visitor Center has parking and wheelchair access. The Junction Trail creates a loop off the Visitor Center and passes the United Daughters of the Confederacy and Maryland monuments. Five tour stops are numbered along a blue solid or dashed line. Tour stop 1 is at Best House, which has parking and the Best Farm Trail. Below the farm and across the Monocacy River is tour stop 2, the Worthington House, which is at the end of a dashed line indicating an unpaved pathway. There is parking here, too, and the Ford Loop Trail and Brooks Hill Loop Trail both circle the farm. From the Worthington Farm, the unpaved road leads south to Baker Valley Road, where there is additional parking. Further up the paved road is tour stop 3, at a Tenant House on Thomas Farm. There is parking by the road here, and the Thomas Farm Trail also creates a loop through the area. The Middle Ford Ferry Loop Trail creates a short loop off the main trail near the river. Back on the paved road, it heads north and passes monuments for Vermont and Pennsylvania and the Araby pull-off before crossing Urbana Pike and arriving at tour stop 4, the Gambrill Mill, where there is parking. In this area there are also the Gambrill House and the Gambrill Mill Trail, which runs along Bush Creek. A portion of the trail is wheelchair accessible. Once again across the river, tour stop 5 is near a monument to New Jersey and the Junction Trail, which connects back to tour stop 1. Legend A scale in the upper right corner of the map measures distances of 0.1 and 0.5 kilometers and 0.1 and 0.5 miles. A legend in the lower left corner reads as follows: Black dashed line for Walking trail, Pink dashed line for Wheelchair-accessible trail, Blue solid line for Auto tour: paved Blue dashed line for Auto tour: unpaved, Red triangle for Monument, and Blue circle with a white number for Tour stop. Two symbols represent Wheelchair-accessible and Parking.
