1896 Flood Height on the Boott Mills Along the Merrimack River
A photo that shows the height of that flood on the Boott Mills. The water was high enough to flood the first floor of all the building that faced the river.
Thirty-two years after the 1896 flood, PLC photographers documented the height of that flood with a series of annotated panorama photos of the mill buildings along the river. This photo of the Boott Mills shows that the water was high enough to flood the first floor of all the building that faced the river.
