Yucca treculeana

​Tall yucca plants rising above a grassy field

Spanish dagger (Yucca treculeana) is a relatively tall plant species at Palo Alto Battlefield. It can be found on the shrub- and mesquite-covered lomas as well as within the sloping ecotone to the salt prairie. This species was present in two of the long-term plots sampled in 2023.
