Welcome to the Temporary Visitor Center
Open Thursday - Sunday from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM, stop by the park’s temporary visitor center and pick up a variety of maps and materials about the park and City of New Bedford’s attractions. Please check the park’s website and social media pages: Facebook.com/NewBedfordNPS, Instagram.com/NewBedfordNPS for the most current information about temporary visitor center operations and offerings.
Park staff has set up a temporary visitor center where we will be providing information about local attractions and activities available for you to do during your visit to New Bedford, including a variety of fun self-guided walking tours and information about museums, restaurants, and shopping. While visiting our temporary visitor center and engaging with staff, we ask that you please wear a face covering and respect the social distancing guidelines in place including a limit of 4-6 people depending on indoor or outdoor location at one time. Information regarding state guidelines due to COVID, which the park is following, can be found here: https://www.mass.gov/info-details/reopening-massachusetts
Park rangers will not be offering walking tours, guided programs, or other special events at this time however there are several virtual opportunities to connect with park resources available on our website nps.gov/NEBE. Please note that because our building is closed that there will not be water or restroom facilities available.
